Verdict

Texas Rock landed a 7f maiden on fast going at Down Royal but makes his handicap debut under top weight on much softer ground. It will take a big effort for him to succeed while Expensive Taste could find this too sharp as he scored over 7f at the Galway Festival before finding a mile too far there a few days later. Mansuri has yet to win and has been racing over much further so JOHNNY LAWMAN looks the one to be on. He probably didn't have much to do when landing a Tipperary maiden but did it in the style of a progressive type and makes his handicap debut on a fair mark. Another handicap debutant, Dark Alliance, may prove best of the remainder though Bobby's Heart was well supported when finishing last at Galway.
