In depth

Verdict

Oh Danny Boy, Siena Star and Cantarna are the three for the shortlist and we side with Oh Danny Boy. Jane Chapple-Hyam's charge won well at Newmarket and although more rain would probably not help matters, there was enough on view to suggest that further improvement is entirely possible. Siena Star continues in good heart although she is another with potential ground worries. Cantarna was a tad disappointing on her last visit here and it could be possible that the chestnut was having an off day at the office. Effective on any surface, her better form is unquestionably with some cut. Le Soleil has not been seen out since successful in April. The market is closely watched. Tata Naka needs fast ground to be at her best while Granary Girl is technically still well in versus her all-weather rating and should not be written off after a couple of disappointments on turf. Atlantic Story has shown little this term but conditions could be in his favour if the rain arrives and the market is watched accordingly. Oh Danny Boy is the selection.
