    Verdict

Kercabellec has an obvious chance on the pick of his form but that has all been on good ground and while the going on the chase course is better than on the hurdles track it may still be too soft for the eight-year-old so the vote goes to Julies Boy ahead of Munadil. The selection may not be the best handicapped horse in the field having been punished for two successes in November but he has struggled in two starts in testing ground since then and he will be ideally suited by today's conditions and gets the vote to resume winning ways. Top weight Meehan showed better form over course and distance last time and is entitled to be thereabouts again, while at the other end of the handicap Valuso makes his chasing debut off a low mark and could be of interest for trainer Noel Chance. Prairie Law has given little sign for encouragement over hurdles and would not look the most likely to make the grade as a chaser so of more interest may be recent Wincanton third Munadil. Julies Boy holds solid claims back on today's ground though and he gets the vote.
