Verdict

This looks a contest well worthy of close scrutiny with a host of interesting two-year-olds lining up. The vote is awarded to SMOOTHTALKINRASCAL courtesy of a fine racecourse debut when second to Englishman at Newbury for Brian Meehan whose juveniles inevitably improve for first outings. Sutton Sid's polytrack second to Lady Phill looks all the better after Bill Turner's filly scored again at Newbury a matter of days ago whilst Party Royal was noted finishing to good effect first time up behind Fat Gary at Chester. The pot is further seasoned by the introduction of the latest newcomer from the Hannon juvenile battalions in Ceelo, plus a couple of really interesting raiders from top northern yards in Wrightington and Setfiretotherain.
