Verdict

Adaptability is a possible improver moving into handicaps but has not been dealt an easy hand by the assessor and SEVEN LUCKY SEVEN is a more realistic option after a smoothly-achieved Salisbury success on just his third start for his current yard under James Doyle. He incurs a 6lb penalty for that success, offset by the 7lb claim of the promising Jordan Vaughan and a similar level of performance would make him the one to beat. The Dukkerer retains maiden status but has shaped well on all three starts over this specialist 7f trip and had the rest comfortably accounted for last time when runner-up to Magical Moon at Beverley. She rates a danger. In contrast, the consistent Bonjour Steve has improved of late dropped to sprinting on soft ground so it will be interesting to see how he handles the return to further on quick ground. Razin' Hell is a three-time winner but all successes have come on Fibresand.
