Verdict

MINGUN BELL gets the strong vote to land the opener at the expense of The Mighty Mod and Contract Caterer. The Henry Cecil colt caught the eye on his debut at Doncaster when finishing a close third of eleven. He ran a little green that day and was doing all his best work late on when the penny finally dropped. This step up to seven furlongs will suit and with further improvement to come he will be difficult to oppose. Contract Dancer ran with credit on his debut at Haydock running into fourth place in what looked a competitive maiden. He is likely to improve for the experience so any market moves should be noted. Of the newcomers the Mark Johnston trained The Mighty Mod is given the most respect. He is nicely bred and will have been well prepared for his racecourse debut by his trainer. Henry Cecil has had a fantastic start to this flat season and Mingun Bell can add to his winning tally.
