With six individual winners in opposition, this is quite a hot little contest, but one of the maidens in the field, Patterdale, gets the vote. Outclassed in the Chesham Stakes at the Royal meeting, he is best judged on his previous effort at Redcar, where he gave the odds on Sky Galaxy quite a fright. Third that day was First Order, who has since gone on to land a nursery off a mark of 86, with the third five lengths away, so off 87 here, Patterdale looks to have an outstanding chance. Who's Winning has struggled since winning on his debut and doesn't look that well treated on what he has done so far. Fiore Di Bosco can be forgiven her last effort in the Hilary Needler, as she was outclassed by subsequent Queen Mary and Cherry Hinton winner Attraction. She will be more at home at this level and should run well without being quite good enough to win. Cheverak Forest has just a claiming win to his name and looks to have plenty to prove, but Cape Trafalgar is interesting, especially with Pat Eddery doing the steering. She isn't over-big, but her heart is in the right place and she may be the one to chase home Patterdale.
