Verdict

An eight runner handicap to finish up the evenings racing and the vote goes to GAY MIRAGE ahead of Bondage and Pena Dorada. The selection is obviously not the straightest of fillies as she wears blinkers. Furthermore, she threw away her winning chance at Kempton 27 days ago when hanging violently left and eventually going down by half a length. That was a decent run and only the third of her career so it may just be he is still a bit green. Her form is very much up to winning a race of this nature and this looks a decent opportunity. Bondage is from a stable going well and he made a pleasing handicap debut 20 days ago. That handicap had plenty of potential for big improvers so a market check is strongly advised on the Fanshawe horse. Pena Dorada burnt some fingers when disappointing on his latest start. He was well backed that day but may have found the trip a bit taxing. He drops two furlongs today which should help and should be capable of going close even from top weight. Blinka Me won his last start but that was on soft ground over further. This is a different task today and is best watched with Gay Mirage getting the vote.
