Verdict

Billy Blade was a cheap buy but showed promise on his racecourse debut in a Fakenham bumper and is from the same family as a couple of decent staying hurdlers. The one to beat here, however, is surely CHRISTOPHER WREN. He won three times up to 1m4f on the Flat and found only the useful mare Golden Gael too strong on his hurdles bow at Chepstow. Book 'Em Danno was third in a Listed contest at Kempton last time and has already won twice at Market Rasen but has to give away 14lb to his rivals here, while 11-times Flat winner Trip The Light may be best watched on his first start for a new stable.
