Verdict

This could provide Fitting Guest with the ideal opportunity to end what has been a frustrating little spell for him and he is selected in preference to Anna Walhaan and Freeloader, who head the list of dangers. That said, Blue Mariner is still open to a fair bit of improvement and could be one to keep tabs on from here. However, there was plenty to like about the way that Fitting Guest went down fighting in his last two starts and a change of luck for the son of Grand Lodge is now overdue. The Ian Williams-trained Ana Walhaan has returned to the Flat with a degree of purpose and will not make life easy for the selection. However, he is not easy to back with any real confidence in a race like this as his win ratio of 2 from 31 starts speaks for itself . Therefore, as the one with the most scope in the field, Fitting Guest is selected to lead them home tonight.
