Majehar will be popular in trying to complete a hat-trick here, but he has never won on turf, and preference is for Kalasam, while Thornaby Green can also show up well. The Bill Muir-trained selection has been gradually slipping down the handicap and was not far away at Ripon last time from a 1lb higher mark. He is proven over the trip and on fast ground and this looks like a good opportunity for him to break his maiden tag. Majehar would perhaps have been the pick if this were on the polytrack, but he has had 10 previous attempts on turf and simply cannot seem to reproduce his best form when there is any grass around. Thornaby Green scored at Newcastle last time and a 5lb rise means he has to produce an unlikely career best to follow up, though if he gives his running he should make the frame. Royal Indulgence enjoyed back-to-back wins at Chepstow and Lingfield last month but struggled under a penalty last time and will probably suffer a similar fate off this mark, and with little else appealing we take Kalasam to land the lucky last.
