    Verdict

TORRID was unfancied for his debut at Newbury but went close to catching the winner and that looks good enough form to win an ordinary maiden. Istimraar has also shown enough to suggest he'll be winning before long while stablemate and newcomer Desert Skywalker cost 140,000gns and is worth noting for the future. Charlie Wells and Day Of Conquest step up in trip after modest debut efforts but Shafrah is entered in the both the Middle Park and Dewhurst Stakes and could prove the biggest threat on his racecourse debut.
