        Verdict

        Alisios, Hoon and Sherston are all likely to improve on their initial runs. Raise Your Gaze is the pick of those with previous experience, however, having only gone down by a neck to God Willing at Newbury last month. The third has franked the form since and he must go well but there are a few promising-looking debutants in opposition including Despot, Maverick Wave and Godolphin's Intense Effort, though the latter may do better as a three-year-old. FREEMASON has some fancy entries this autumn and fetched 150,000gns as a yearling. The Cape Cross colt can make a winning start.
