A tight handicap to finish the day can go to Kartuzy, ahead of Siena Star and Arjay. Kartuzy has only had three outings this term but has already visited the winner's enclosure, at Yarmouth in May when she made all in class E company. Raised eight pounds at Ripon, she got off to a tardy start and failed to set a strong enough pace, losing out to Coolbythepool. a half-sister to Marienbard, she will make a bold bid to get losses back if Philip Robinson can crack out and make her stamina count on this demanding track. She makes a bit more appeal than Siena Star who ran on at the finish behind Pinchincha at Doncaster. Arjay improved for his reappearance when chasing home Market Avenue at Beverley and looks set to play a part, while Bojangles, down the field at Newmarket behind Kaluana Court, may improve for the step up in trip.
