In depth

Verdict

Patrick Mullins keeps the ride on St Stephens Green, even though the gelding has switched to Emmet from Willie Mullins after failing to justify favouritism on his debut at Punchestown in April. Better is expected and he's preferred to Perth runner-up Blessed King, who has Nina Carberry doing the steering. Jamie Codd takes over the reins on winning pointer BLACK SAM THE MAN after his third at Punchestown. Shark Hanlon's five-year-old is going to be better when upped in trip and tackling hurdles but this looks a decent stepping stone and few of the others make much appeal.
