MATTORAL ran green enough on debut but got the hang of things nicely late-on and may well find enough improvement to win at the second time of asking. Peter Makin's colt should go well over this trip at this age and is a sporting alternative to likely market leaders Sagramor and Alshazah. The former showed some improvement at Salisbury over this trip last time and with more likely to come he has to be short-list material, while the latter put up his best run to date over course and distance when a 66-1 shot and on that evidence he should be involved. Joe Le Taxi was hanging on his Ayr debut so a step up in trip and change of direction might favour him.
