In depth

Verdict

With Andrew Balding's juveniles coming to hand, SOVIET SPRING is put up as a likely sort today to strike in the opener. Well backed on debut, there must have been something amiss on that occasion but he actually ran far better than his finishing position suggests at Folkestone. Linda Stubbs wouldn't have too many runners at Kempton so a note is made of Chilledtothebone's position in the market. Tourmaline is a half-sister to prolific winner, CD Flyer, though was not particularly well backed on debut. Hi Note is put forward once making the transition to handicapping. Captain Noble represents a yard with a 15% strike rate with its juveniles this term and this is actually a drop in class vis-a-vis a debut run at Goodwood.
