In depth

Verdict

It could pay to side with CHOSEN SON who gets the narrow vote over Spinning Bailiwick and Westwood Dawn. The selection has been a bit hit and miss but he would have a big chance on the pick of his form and he has been running in handicap company of late. He is now pitched back into a weak maiden and from a decent draw he might just be worth chancing. Gary Moore will be hoping to win races with Spinning Bailiwick as she shaped with plenty of promise at Lingfield last time on her return from a break, but the draw could have been kinder to her today. Westwood Dawn has finished second on five of her 22 runs but she is a quirky type and the tongue-tie and visor failed to galvanise her at Wolverhampton last week. Shirley High should be suited by this drop back to 5f but her overall form is very patchy and she can't backed with any confidence. A poor race to open the card and the vote is given to Chosen Son.
