In depth

Verdict

Border Station won one of these at odds of 66/1 at Lingfield last week but lightning may not strike twice here. The market will be the best guide to the chances of the returning A Bridge Too Far and Meridiem but Specialagent Alfie isn't without a chance if recapturing the best of his hurdles form and Trackmate was in good form over timber in the summer, winning at Stratford and Uttoxeter, and was tackling Listed opposition when pulled up on this course earlier in the month. SUERTE AL SALTO won a bumper over 1m6f at Fontwell last spring and only found one too good in a couple of decent novice hurdles in November. He may be the one to beat in this though Destroyer Deployed is likely to be staying on well in the closing stages and Glen Countess should be pressing for a place.
