LE CHIFFRE heads a short-list which also features Myfrenchconnection and Affretando. The selection has the worst of the draw tonight but, in David Probert, he has the right man on board to negotiate that. The gelding has been in great form for John Harris this summer on polytrack and turf in claimers and sellers but may be able to make a successful step back up to handicapping for his new yard. Myfrenchconnection is saddled with a penalty for his narrow win at Thirsk. He showed a good attitude there and holds his form well but this will be his first outing on an all-weather surface. Affretando is stepping back up in trip having done all of his best work in the closing stages over seven furlongs at Folkestone. That was a fair performance given that it was his first outing since the end of July and a little improvement could see him take a hand in the finish at the course where he won his maiden. This is competitive but Le Chiffre may have the answer.
