Verdict

For the selection here we will go for Penny Post ahead of Rocker and Majestic Cheer. Course and distance winner Penny Post may not have been suited by not being able to lead last time when fourth at Wolverhampton and, in any case, may have needed the outing. With that under her belt, and granted that she can race closer to the pace today, she looks to hold solid-enough claims. Fontana Amarosa was last in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes last time but had shown promise before that when winning her maiden, while Majestic Cheer showed improved form to win at Wolverhampton last time and might have more to come. Rocker also comes here in good heart, having won two of his last three starts and he is respected although it will be interesting to see how this speedball copes with the extra furlong today. Finally, Sparkling Eyes is seven pounds better off for the three-and-three-quarter lengths that Penny Post beat her over course and distance in November. That considered, we will still stick with Penny Post as the selection.
