Verdict

FELSHAM, Night Trade and Rain On The Wind are the trio for the shortlist here and the vote is given to Felsham. Henry Candy's colt showed plenty of promise on his debut at Sandown when he finished third behind Bridge Valley. He looks to have his quirks but he clearly has ability and this half-brother to Oldjoesaid is taken to open his account. Night Trade has shown promise on each of her two runs this season and she wasn't beaten far in third behind a decent yardstick in Waveband at Wolverhampton last time. She was well supported in the market that day and it will be interesting to see if the money arrives again here. Stuart Williams is as shrewd as they come so if Rain On The Wind is the subject of market support then he could be of interest, although he will need to improve on what he has shown on the racecourse so far if he is to make his mark. Jeremy Gask has enjoyed a good season and his newcomer Winifred Jo should not be discounted lightly, but in a race where the market may well provide the clues, we will stick with Felsham as the choice.
