Verdict

DESERT ICON would have finished closer than fifth at Lingfield last time if he hadn't met trouble in running. If David Simcock's charge can run anywhere near his best form on the turf, he'll take the beating here. He should confirm recent form with Dvinsky, though the latter is back on a winning mark and has ran well over C&D since. Perlachy won over C&D back in 2009 but his last four victories have all come at Wolverhampton and Best Trip hasn't shown much improvement lately, despite his slide down the weights. Sherjawy makes most appeal of the remainder.
