In depth

Verdict

Roman Quest took advantage of what had looked a fair mark when landing a Folkestone maiden 10 days ago and is taken to defy a 6lb penalty and score at the main expense of Lucayos and Discotheque. The last mentioned has had plenty of chances and, while seemingly well enough treated, is becoming expensive to follow so may be best watched. The David Evans-trained The London Gang has slipped to a fair mark but has given little sign of encouragement of late, while Glenviews Youngone needs to improve on all known form. Bathwick Prince has had plenty of chances and of more interest may be recent Southwell winner Lucayos, although it remains to be seen whether he will be as effective here. Roman Quest has obviously yet to prove his effectiveness on this surface as well but there is no reason why he should not handle it and he is taken to continue on the upgrade.
