Verdict

Plenty of recent winners on show and SHALAMBAR may prove the best of them as he's at the top of his game at present. He won over hurdles earlier this month having scored over track and trip in February with previous winner Maison Brillet well behind and a claimer negates most of a 7lb rise. McBirney's latest poor effort on Fibresand can be forgiven especially as he won over course and distance before that. He has claims along with Pahente while the Southwell maiden winner Mister Bob also has a shout on his handicap debut. Brunston has been back on a winning mark for some time now but still has a chance in an open contest.
