Verdict

MERCOLIANO broke his maiden tag at Wolverhampton on his third outing last time out and is taken to follow up at the expense of Atlantic Tiger and Mawaddah. Marcus Botti has progressed through the ranks over the past couple of seasons and has his best team of horses to date this year. The selection has already shown promise and looks more than capable of being competitive off a mark of 79. Atlantic Tiger is another that has similar form to his name and comes form the powerful Mark Johnston stable. He again looks favourably treated and any market moves should be noted. Mawaddah ran five times as a two year old last season and showed improvement with experience. He came good at the first time of asking on his seasonal reappearance and with the Hannon stable in such fine form he warrants plenty of respect. Mercoliano looks the most interesting on paper and gets the narrow vote.
