Verdict

GLENNTEN finally made the most of a slide down the handicap when opening his account at Wolverhampton last time. He can effectively race off a 3lb lower mark today thanks to an apprentice's allowance and Sylvester Kirk's charge can go in again. Valdaw is still searching for his first win but went close to beating Sandy Lane on his latest start and makes more appeal than both Lord Buffhead and Brandywell Boy, who haven't threatened off higher marks since winning at the end of last year. Summer Sun is another without a win but regularly finishes in a place.
