    Verdict

Another race where the likely favourite looks very hard to oppose Caracciola is confidently expected to pass this test with aplomb. The Nicky Henderson-trained gelding may have most to fear from Atum Re, who was far from disgraced behind Thisthatandtother at Sandown last month. However, Paul Webber's charge has improvement to find with the selection on a literal reading of that running and he looks booked for the minor honours today. Palua and Mercato can have their own battle for the best form book reference point to be gained from their finishing positions today. So in a race that appears to be at his mercy, Caracciola is the obvious choice to boost the bank balance; if only to a percentage of any stakes profit.
