Verdict

CARNAVAL COURT is our recommendation with Calm Storm and Mary Celest on the shortlist. The selection proved a little disappointing at Chepstow though the visor has been applied on this occasion. Far from disgraced at Ascot, this mark of 64 could prove to be on the light side. Calm Storm is interestingly stepped up in trip for a handicap debut. A half-brother to Dark Indian, there is plenty of hope on the basis of the pedigree that he will stay a mile. Kevin Ryan's stable have bounced back into life so watch out for any market confidence about Mary Celest. Rodrigo De Freitas ran a solid enough race at Kempton off a mark of 60. The handicapper has reacted with a 3lb rise for it. Knockenduff appears likely to be tried upfront again. Execution needs to improve upon his all-weather introduction whilst Yarmouth sprint winner, Right Rave, steps up to a mile. There is arguably enough in the pedigree to suggest that she will get this extra distance. Hellenio is watched in the market. Carnaval Court is given another chance to get his head infront.
