In depth

Verdict

Dubawi Dancer wasn't entirely convincing on her hurdling debut at Doncaster but still came home seven lengths in front and the runner-up franked the form earlier this week. She is open to improvement but now has a penalty to carry and just as interesting is newcomer SADLER'S RISK. Fourth in last year's Chester Vase, he's been given plenty of time to settle into his new surroundings by Philip Hobbs and can start repaying that patience here. State Senator was disappointing on the Flat but it would be no surprise if Nicky Henderson rekindled his enthusiasm and he has more scope than Fakenham winner Black Dragon and Reyamour, who ran poorly at Leicester after winning a minor contest at Hereford.
