In depth

Verdict

Given his pedigree and price tag, it's disappointing that BLACK POND has yet to win. But he has been placed on all three starts at around a mile and today's longer trip can see him get off the mark. Lady Elsie showed promise when runner-up on her debut at Wolverhampton and she's preferred to the Godolphin representative Sandusky, who was fifth on his debut at Newbury. Jockey bookings suggest Mina's Boy is the first choice of Ed Dunlop's duo, while Take A Spin is worth noting for the future on his racecourse debut. Tappanappa returns from a lengthy absence and may be best watched on this occasion.
