Verdict

Rule Of Life can come out on top over Last Sovereign, Grande Caiman and Linlithgow. None of these have caught the eye as much as Rule Of Life who improved markedly on what he had shown on his Newmarket debut at the July meeting when third there on his return. That was after a three-month break when he clearly appreciated the ease in the ground, and as long as he adapts to this surface, there should be more to come from the son of Dansili, a half-brother to plenty of winners. Last Sovereign is an interesting newcomer from the yard of Roger Charlton. This son of Pivotal has reportedly been working well at home, and the stable does like its winners here. Grande Caiman was getting the hang of things at the end of his Wolverhampton debut in which he was seventh of twelve, and will know more this time, while John Dunlop's inmates generally come on in leaps and bounds for their introduction, so Linlithgow has to be included in calculations. For the winner we return to Rule Of Life.
