In depth

Verdict

Glorious Twelfth was a hot favourite on her racecourse debut at Aintree last May but lost all chance when running wide into the straight. She is capable of better and shouldn't be discounted despite a lay-off while Midnight Minx turned over the odds-on Golden Firebird at Folkestone in November, though the second has been well beaten since. CALL ME A STAR, sister to the useful Call Me A Legend and Call At Midnight, was a very easy winner at Wetherby in November and is open to further improvement. Providing she handles the surface, Alan King's mare is fancied to defy her penalty though a market move for Noel Chance's newcomer Prize Poppy would be interesting as she's a full sister to dual bumper winner Minteverdi.
