Verdict

Plenty with claims in a competitive sprint including Larwood, who posted a much-improved effort when scoring by four lengths over C&D on his return. In contrast, Uprise showed little improvement on last year's form when second at Wolverhampton on his reappearance, though he still has plenty of scope along with October's Newbury maiden winner Priceless Jewel. GABBIANO ran below par on his recent return at Bath but had got off the mark over track and trip in December in good style and can return to winning ways back on this surface. Mister Musicmaster and Galician have the past form to figure.
