Verdict

St Jean Cap Ferrat was no match for the smart Bouguereau at Pontefract last month, a rival rated 31lb superior to him but what one can gain from the performance is that this 1m 2f trip should not prove problematic as he was not stopping at the conclusion in that Pontefract event. His form last season in maidens containing potentially smart sorts and this weak median auction maiden appears within his range. Havanavich concluded last season with a disappointing effort in a Lingfield event similar to this. He did show promise at Goodwood in what looked a decent contest but the lack of a recent outing would be a worry. Title Role showed progressive form as last season concluding with a third placing in a Wolverhampton nursery, the form of which has not worked out bad. Just over one length in front was Points Of View who subsequently landed two nurseries and went close off 82 on his final outing. Market moves for the Terry Mills trained Hi Hopes should be noted as Jamie Spencer rides that in possible preference of the James Fanshawe trained Qui Moi. St Jean Cap Ferrat come here on the back of a pipe opener behind a much superior rival and is taken to score.
