In depth

Verdict

Spiderback, Jack Rolfe, Kaateb and Vallemeldee look the short list material here and Jack Rolfe looks the one to be on. Gary Moore's gelding is in good form and looks a tough sort, going close at York before staying on strongly to score at Newbury last time. A 4lb rise looks fair enough, and another bold bid is expected. Spiderback is a c&d scorer who went well enough from this mark at Folkestone last time but probably needs a drop in the weights to win again. Kaateb improved for the step up to 10f at Sandown last time and is related to winners over this trip. As one open to plenty more improvement a big effort is anticipated, while Vallemeldee is back on a handy mark and as one who gets the trip well she has frame claims, but Jack Rolfe is our idea of the winner.
