Verdict

A penalty, could again, prove the undoing of Wade Farm Billy who, in any event, has something to find on the figures with Spent and of more interest are Adelar and CAPTAIN CHRIS with the latter nominally preferred. A market move for Adelar would clearly be of interest given the level of form he achieved on the Flat and it's interesting that he still holds an entry for the Supreme Novices' later this month but he could be short enough in the market so we'll look to the once raced Captain Chris instead. The concern would be that he may lack the speed of his Flat bred rivals but he shaped promisingly in a bumper at the track and should be able to make his mark over hurdles before being sent chasing. Spent was well held in a handicap last time but had shown up quite well at Ffos Las prior to that and official ratings give him the edge over Wade Farm Billy who was far from disgraced behind Pepe Simo at Wincanton and should have more to offer. General Eliott is an interesting runner for Paul Cole whilst Via Galielei is worth monitoring with an eye to the future but preference today is for Captain Chris.
