Verdict

There's plenty to be wary of with four of the field sporting headgear for the first time and a couple returning from absences. CAUSEWAY KING gets our vote with Lady Rusty and Bedarra Boy two that could provide some each-way sport. The selection was entitled to need his reappearance at the track over a mile when shaping as though he'd be ideally suited by a longer trip. This is backed up by his pedigree and it may be worth taking a chance that the former Mark Johnston inmate can find the necessary improvement for the stiffer test. Lady Rusty failed to justify market support at Newbury but remains of interest as she switches surface whilst Bedarra Boy shaped with a modicum of promise at Lingfield and could be heading the right way. Rock Relief failed to justify his market position at Lingfield but may be worth another chance whilst headgear may work the oracle for any of Madison Park, Demeanour, Scene Two or Angelica's Art. Qelaan was progressing along the right lines in the spring and is one to monitor for signs of market confidence as is Great Bounder on his seasonal return and handicap bow. This race could take some sorting out but it's doubtful that we've yet seen the best of Causeway King.
