    Verdict

DHAAWIAH is selected to make a winning debut with Expressive and Makaam the rivals that she may have most to fear from. A year ago Act Of Diplomacy was sent off at odds-on to complete a hat-trick of victories in this maiden for the boys in blue only to come up well short. This year they're represented by an Elusive Quality filly who is out of a well related winning dam; it would be no surprise if she were to prove up to the task. Expressive has been absent since making a pleasing debut behind a fair sort at Wolverhampton in May. The market should guide as to whether she's expected to build on that promise on her return and, as a half-sister to Echelon and Chic, she also looks the part on paper whilst the longer trip will suit. With a BHA rating of 86 Makaam sets the standard and it will be interesting to see if there's any support for him now that the yard appears to be out of the doldrums. It wouldn't pay to laden his two runs this season with too much significance. Juvenile form brings Hay Fever into the equation but he may lack scope and of more interest are Dayanara, Ultimate Respect and Silverglas even allowing for the fact that the first two have plenty to prove. This looks a fair heat on paper but the well bred Dhaawiah may prove to be the best of them.
