Verdict

HOORAY sets the standard and can land the Group Three Sirenia Stakes ahead of The Paddyman and Signs In The Sand. Sir Mark Prescott's filly won the Lowther at York in authoritative fashion having previously gone well at Newmarket's July meeting, with her trainer blaming himself for the filly's failure in between. Rated 110, she looks the form pick and as we know she acts on the surface there's little temptation to take her on. The Paddyman romped home at Yarmouth before taking second in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and this is technically a drop in class so he must be considered a threat in receipt of weight. He was behind one of Richard Hannon's that day so he should know where he stands in sending Reckless Reward here, although our feeling is he needs to improve as his rating of 98 indicates. Signs In The Sand is the relative unknown quantity but the manner of his maiden success combined with his Mill Reef entry suggest he's above average and a big run wouldn't surprise.
