In depth

Verdict

Into The Dark, Young Mick and Illustrious Blue look the three to concentrate on here and the confident vote is given to Young Mick. The selection has taken a while to find his form this season but he ran a blinder last time at Leicester when chasing home New Guinea. He is a course and distance winner and he looks like one to stay on the right side of at present. Into The Dark is an obvious danger but he was a little disappointing when last seen out at Ayr in September. He races here for the first time and he is arguably better over a slightly shorter trip. Illustrious Blue usually reserves his best for Goodwood and although he is capable of getting competitive, this is his first try over this trip. Cold Turkey is a course and distance winner but he may find this company a bit too hot to handle. We will therefore return to Young Mick who can notch his first win of the season.
