Verdict

There should be more to come from BLUE LYRIC and she's preferred to Master Of Dance and Pittodrie Star. The selection showed improved form for the switch to racing in handicap company on an artificial surface and was good value for her winning margin of three and a half lengths. She's open to further improvement and should be able to overcome her low draw in a field of this size. Pittodrie Star showed improved form from debut to land his maiden although he only did so narrowly as it took a long time for him to respond to his rider's urgings. That was probably down to inexperience as much as anything else and there may well be a good deal of improvement to come, particularly as he's stepped back up in trip; he's respected. Master Of Dance has run well on both starts on an artificial surface and should win races this winter. He may well go up in the weights for his run at Lingfield on Friday so could be well-in here in theory but the other pair look open to greater improvement. Edgewater is 5lbs higher than when scoring at Pontefract in October but that was a career best effort so he could be on the upgrade. More's required in this contest but the form looks solid and he can't be dismissed out of hand. Be A Devil posted a decent effort when last seen but has more on his plate this evening and can be found easier opportunities as we look to Blue Lyric to lead them home.
