Verdict

Bomber Command can get the better of Vacation and Erra Go On, with Gaelic Princess best of the remainder. Yet again, Eddie Ahern finds himself on a fancied contender, this time in the shape of Bomber Command who came good again here eight days ago, clearly appreciating the fact that he could stride out in the finishing straight. Today's pilot has won on him before, and as John Hills's three-year-old is still reasonably handicapped, a follow-up is very much on the cards. Vacation has yet to race here, but goes well on the Wolverhampton surface so should quickly adapt as he drops back in trip. Any support for the Irish raider Erra Go On should be noted, but how he will cope with the Polytrack is anybody's guess. Gaelic Princess is generally better on Turf, but has bottom-weight here and lines up in a bit of form, while old Norton should never be discounted as he might just surprise. An open-looking affair can go to Bomber Command.
