Verdict

Merigo has an exciting season over fences ahead of him but this is probably just a fitness run, so we will take a chance on QUEEN OF DIAMONDS. The selection was a good winner at Cartmel two starts back when she raced close to the pace and showed a good turn of foot to go clear. Next time up at Sedgefield her young jockey Campbell Gillies gave her a lot to do and she never looked like featuring; the instructions to Oliver Williams will hopefully be to have her handy throughout on this nippy track. Box Walsh hasn't shown anything to date but this mark of 90 may prove attractive, Ad Murum needs to improve his hurdling technique, whilst Sonara represents a stable in good form and this 70-rated flat horse could be well-treated. Humourous is a course and distance winner, whilst Pay On has won here before and shouldn't be too readily dismissed. Not a stellar start to the day, but we will side with Queen Of Diamonds.
