Verdict

RAINBOW PEAK is only the second runner John Ferguson has had at Kelso and he should make no mistake, despite a penalty. The formerly classy stayer on the Flat pulled for his head over 2m4f at Doncaster last time but still had far too much pace for the well-backed Call Me Vic and it was 16 lengths back to the third. Master Red is on a retrieval mission having fallen when in front at Bangor in November. He may be the danger as Aintree scorer Roc De Prince was well beaten over this course and distance in December. Spitz has a future, however, and Lord Usher will be interesting when his attentions are turned to fences.
