Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Pangbourne, Ossmoses and What of it make the shortlist here, with Pangbourne a solid choice in a race where none can be ruled out with any confidence. What Of It was staying on to good effect over a shorter trip at Newton Abbott last time and he looks sure to go well, although the ground may be a little quick for him. Runner-up in the Midlands Grand National four years ago, Ossmoses showed with his effort last time that he is no back number in this grade and he will be staying on at the finish. Pangbourne was good enough to take a Taunton handicap chase a year ago, and he ran a sound race recently to be second in a point to point. Conditions look sure to suit, and Pangbourne can win his first race for a year.
