In depth

Verdict

Funny Thing is an interesting Irish raider and his form behind Battlecry looks solid so he gets the nomination ahead of Valentines Lady and Lady Bernie. Tony Dobbin is an interesting jockey booking on Paul Webber's Lady Bernie as he has only had a handful of rides for the stable previously but the horse will need to improve massively on his hurdling debut when he was tailed off. The selection, Funny Thing, ran well in defeat last time out and should be respected making the trip across the Irish Sea again. The stable have been providing plenty of winners on their raids and with the ground unlikely to pose any problems, a big run looks on the cards. Similarily Uncommited should go well having showed up well for a long way last time out, whilst Valentines Lady comes here on the back of a win at Wetherby. The ground is different today but she had run well on softer ground in bumper races last season and she must rate the main danger. At a price Tinto Verano could reach a place, however it is Funny Thing who can have the last laugh.
