Verdict

Both Maggio and Chester Lad opened their account over fences before making bad blunders on their latest starts. Collateral form has them closely matched if they straighten out their jumping and the latter had DEGAS ART well behind when scoring at Newcastle in January. However, it was testing ground on that occasion and, back on a more suitable surface, Lucinda Russell's charge once-useful hurdler may well reverse running. Stablemate Kai Broon makes his chasing bow and has little chance on today's terms unless showing a big improvement on his form over hurdles.
