    Verdict

Donovan is in the form of his life at present having won his last three starts but a 9lb rise for the latest of those successes leaves Richard Guest's gelding with more to do and a safer bet looks to be Borora, who gets the vote ahead of Croix de Guerre. The last mentioned has been running consistently well of late but the Philip Hobbs-trained gelding may be a shade high in the weights at present so he looks best watched. Palua gave the impression that he would come on for his reappearance run at Lingfield and he has more solid claims than Made In Montot, who has been pulled up in his two starts this term. The vote then goes to Borora who was good value for his win at Uttoxeter last month and is taken to defy the 7lb rise for that success.
