In depth

Verdict

CAROLE'S LEGACY has created a favourable impression in winning her two starts in bumpers, latterly at Aintree, and Nicky Henderson's filly is taken to make a winning debut over hurdles, getting the verdict over Somersby and Shoreacres. The last mentioned showed decent form in bumpers, losing no caste in defeat when fourth in the Champion Bumper at the festival meeting and Brendan Powell's gelding has to be respected on his debut over timber. Oliver Sherwood's Puerto Azul has shown some promise in National Hunt flat races but probably needs to improve on his form in that sphere to trouble the judge, while Alan King's French import Quidonc showed only a modicum of ability in his native country and is difficult to recommend in what looks a decent novices' hurdle. Henrietta Knight's Somersby, a winner of his only start so far in a Huntingdon bumper, has to be of interest but it is Carole's Legacy that gets the vote.
